Knitted Wire Mesh Demister Pad is a popular filter element used in fertilizer factories for absorbing tower and drying tower. The demister element is produced with AISI 316 stainless steel demister grids and PTFE/Hostaflon or equivalent mesh pad material.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION OF KNITTED WIREMESH DEMISTER ELEMENTS FOR ABSORBING TOWER OF SULFURIC ACID PLANT

Description of Demister Elements

The Demister Elements are pads formed by several layers of knitted wire mesh sown together. Wire strands made of poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene (PTEE) or similar elements.

Pads of knitted wire Mesh are sandwitched between grids made of stainless steel A1SI-316L grade so that the pads retain the size & shape as per required by customers.

Shape of these pads with Grid must be such that they exactly fit in the internal section of the Shell of the Absorbing Tower which has an internal diameter of 2300mm.

Materials of the wire mesh pad can withstand maximum service temperature of NOT LESS THAN I50°C.

Demister pads with grids can be made in several sections/segments (six to eight segments) so that these can be easily handled & put inside the Absorbing lower through a manhole (400 x 600mm size) and when put together, fits exactly in 2300mm I.D.

Height of the knitted wire mesh demister pad elements to be about 95 to 105 mm and together with retaining Grid, 145 to 155mm.

The demister pads are suitable for continuous use, 24 hours a day, 330 days a year.

Scope of supply:
Demister elements are in two sets each with different density as follows:
Demister Elements in 6 to 8 segments with density of 225 kg/m3 (One) set (Lower).
Demister Elements in 6 to 8 segments with density of 115.5 kg/m3 (One) set (Upper).
Purpose: Knitted wire Mesh Demister Elements is used to eliminate/reduce mist from stack gases containing sulphuric acid leaving the Absorbing Tower of sulphuric acid plant.

Operating conditions in Absorbing Tower and the Demister
Gas entering into the Absorbing Tower at 100% of the plant load.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION OF KNITTED WIREMESH DEMISTER ELEMEWS FOR DRYING TOWER OF SULFURIC ACID PLANT

The knitted wire Mesh Demister Elements are used to eliminate/reduce mist from dried air, containing mist of sulphuric acid leaving the Drying Tower of sulphuric acid plant.

Detail of Demister Elements for Drying Tower:

The demister elements are padsformed by several layers of knitted Wire Mesh sown together. Wire strands made of Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene (PTFE) or similar materials. The same wire is used in sewing the wire mesh also.

Pads of knitted wire mesh must be sandwitched between grids made of stainless steel AISI-316L grade so that the pads retainl the size & shape as per sketch drawing or specified.

Shape of these pads with grid must be such that the exactly fit in the internal section of the Shell of the Drying Tower which has internal diameter of 2300 mm.

Materials of the wire mesh pad must withstand the maximum service temperature of NO LESS THAN 150°C

Density: 11.5 Kg/m3

The Demister pads with grids should be in several sections/segments (six to eight segments) so that these can be easily handled & can be put inside the Drying Tower through a manhole (400 * 600mm size) and when put together, fits exactly in 2300mm I.D.

Air pressure is 200mm H2O (flow rate 12000 Nm3/hr) during gas firing of the plant as and when required. Air pressure and flow rate varies with plant load. At 45% load air pressure is 500-600mm H2O (30,000-35,000 Nm3/hr flow rate) and increase progressively as plant load is increased.
