What is Demsiter Pad?

Demister pads are filter elements commonly made of metal or stainless steel mesh designed to be highly permeable, allowing the gas to freely pass through while simultaneously trapping and removing the liquid droplets. They have higher absorption rate than other types of pads. Metal mesh pads can handle a lot of liquid and vapor and still remain intact for a longer period of time. The porous mesh layer allows for easier flow of air and liquid. This ensures that any entrained droplets are removed from the gas stream, thus preventing blockage and corrosion in downstream equipment.

Stainless steel woven knit mesh can absorb up to 99% of liquid and vapor. Metal pads are capable of handling high liquid and vapor content, while the stainless steel mesh pads offer better insulation and are more resistant to corrosion.

Demister pads are available in a variety of styles and sizes. The pad is reinforced by multiple layers of knit wire mesh supported by rings. The filter media has high filtration efficiency, a low pressure drop and a long working life.

York 431 style demister pads are stainless steel wire mesh filter media for liquid and gas applications. Made from SS304, SS304L or SS316L, these pads are commonly used in the chemical and oil industries, coalescing liquids from steam and air vents, and collecting and retaining liquid droplets from gas streams.
